AIB Bank (CI) Limited Cessation of Operations - CEO Update
In April 2012 Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (AIB), announced the wind down of its operations in the islands of Jersey and the Isle of Man. Since the announcement, considerable progress has been made towards the wind down of the business and we have been assisting customers with the closure of their accounts. On 26 July 2012 we wrote to customers advising them of the withdrawal of our Debit Card and Internet Banking services with effect from 31 October 2012 and I am pleased to advise that most customers who use these services have been able to make alternative arrangements. We are now working towards closing the remaining customer accounts in order to enable us to progress the necessary legal and regulatory formalities in connection with closure of our business. All customers should now have made alternative banking arrangements or be in a position to arrange the transfer of their funds to a suitable alternative bank. If you are affected and do not yet have alternative banking facilities in place, we strongly recommend you take immediate action. Customers who have longer term contractual arrangements such as loan and mortgage facilities will be contacted in due course.
