In April 2012 Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. ( AIB ), announced the wind down of its operations in the islands of Jersey and the Isle of Man. Since the announcement, major progress has been made towards the wind down of the business and the majority of customers have now closed their accounts. We have recently written to the remaining customers with whom we are in contact advising them that all deposits will shortly be transferred to a segregated account scheme (the "Scheme") in order to enable us to progress the necessary legal and regulatory formalities in connection with closure of our business and surrendering of our Banking Licence. Full details of the administrator and the date the Scheme is to become effective will be communicated in the near future. If you have not yet closed your account, we strongly recommend you take immediate action and contact your branch. Copies of all customer communications are available below.
